Terminalia Oblonga

A native timber tree of wet tropical forest in Central and South America, found from about 30 to 900 m elevation and typically along stream banks, though it does not tolerate flooding. Mature trees develop extended buttresses that make felling difficult. In Costa Rica it is grown in plantations for a wood of moderate density, strength and durability, and birds eat its unripe fruits.
