Golden Shower Tree

A fast-growing, medium-sized deciduous tree with pinnately compound leaves and long, hanging clusters of bright yellow flowers that drape from the crown in spring and early summer. The flowers are followed by dark brown, cylindrical seed pods up to 60 cm long that persist on the tree for months. It is the national tree of Thailand and is widely planted in the tropics as a street and specimen tree.
