A solitary, fast-growing palm with a smooth, light grey to almost white trunk that is slightly swollen mid-length and marked with dark leaf scars, topped by a pale to blue-green crownshaft. Its fronds are densely plumose, with leaflets radiating at many angles around the leaf stalk, giving each frond the look of a fox's tail. Ripe fruits are egg-shaped and orange to red.

Worth knowingThe palm was discovered in 1978 and named after an Aboriginal man called Wodyeti. High demand for it led poachers to illegally harvest seed from protected areas in Australia, endangering wild populations.
