Temple is a tangor, a hybrid between tangerine (mandarin) and sweet orange, grown as an evergreen citrus tree. Its fruit is rated by Florida extension as superb in both quality and appearance and ripens in the late mid-season, from January to March in Florida. The tree is self-fruitful and a very good pollenizer for other citrus, but both fruit and foliage are very susceptible to citrus scab.
